Modern pregnancy photoshoot in Vienna

A pregnancy photoshoot is a beautiful memory of a wonderful period in your life. The photos will take you back to that special time, even after many years.

At the End of January 2023, I got to meet Jenny and Denis for a pregnancy session in Vienna. The two of them were not looking for traditional maternity photos, but a modern, unconventional version of them. We exchanged mood boards and began searching for the perfect location. We found the ideal photo studio at y.lab in Vienna. With a large bright room, long curtains and factory windows, it was the perfect setting for our shoot.

While listening to relaxed music, we took photos for about an hour and during this time the outfit was changed three times. Jenny wore a white suit, followed by beige trousers combined with a cropped shirt and finally a beautiful white knitted dress. We made use of the studio's natural light and I occasionally used direct flash. The combination of clean, blurred and flashed photos made the outcome so special! It was so much fun to meet the three of them and I'm looking forward to them welcoming their baby soon.

Tip: The ideal time for the pregnancy photoshoot is between the 30th and 36th week of the pregnancy. This is when the belly is already quite round and clearly visible. Though this varies from woman to woman. Most importantly, you should feel comfortable in your own skin and be able to move freely. Jenny was in her 31st week of pregnancy at the photoshoot.

The photos could be taken in your home, in nature or, as for Jenny and Denis, in a daylight studio - depending on where you feel most comfortable. I recommend contacting your photographer early enough to set a date and the perfect location for your maternity shoot.
